Yet so much of what we do depends on our personal energy and creativity.
If we're feeling knackered and flat, we can't possibly do our best work; so we need to make sure we recharge every so often.
I try to take care of myself by having early nights, going to the gym a couple of times a week and making sure I spend time with the people I love. I am a bit of a terror for the junk food though and I know I really must kick that habit!
The other way I keep my energy levels up is from talking to other people, outside of the business, to share ideas, get inspiration and reassurance.
I need to have those things to be able to do my job so I try to get out at least once a month, whether it's to a speaking engagement, conference, seminar or best practice visit.
By talking things through with people who have a different perspective and listening to others, I pick up ideas and potential solutions. Quite frequently after a day out of the office, my brain whirs with possibilities and I'll be itching to get back into work to pitch my ideas or share what I've learnt.
I think the secret to keeping your energy up is knowing what works for you; what energises you and what you need to be able to give your best every day.
How do you keep your energy levels up?
